REMINDER - JUNIOR INFANTS ENROLMENT DEADLINE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The enrolment deadline for children starting Junior Infants is approaching this Friday.
WORLD BOOK DAY 5TH MARCH
We are excited to be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March.
As part of the celebrations, children are invited, if they wish, to dress up as a book character of their choice. They are also welcome to bring in the book that features their chosen character to share in class.
PETITION TO REINSTATE OUR LOLLIPOP PERSON
We are asking parents, guardians, grandparents, aunties, uncles, childminders, neighbours, and all members of the community who use the crossing to please sign our petition. The more signatures we gather, the stronger our case will be to have our lollipop person reinstated as soon as possible.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could sign it as soon as possible and share the link with as many people as you can.
WEAR YOUR STRIPES
On Friday, 27th February 2026, our school will take part in Wear Your Stripes Day in support of Rare Ireland, as part of Rare Disease Day.
Students are invited to wear striped clothing or accessories to help raise awareness for the more than 300,000 people in Ireland living with rare diseases.
A suggested donation of €2 can be made via Aladdin or by sending money into school. All funds raised will support Rare Ireland’s work with children and families affected by rare conditions.
POBAL
At our recent monthly assembly, we focused on our latest Pobal expectation:
We walk safely and quietly in the school. The children discussed what this looks like in practice and how it helps create a calm and respectful environment for everyone.
We also celebrated the fantastic success of our quiz teams and were treated to a wonderful performance from our talented traditional music group.
Well done to all involved.
CROCHET CLUB
Crochet Club has returned and takes place every Wednesday. It is open to anyone who would like to join, and no experience is necessary. We have plenty of wool and hooks available, so new members are very welcome.
